The new AHU heat pump condenser for the fresh air ventilation systems at the prestigious 50 High Street refurbishment, had to be installed in the early hours of the morning to avoid major disruption to the main streets of St Peter Port.
Working alongside Ravenscroft construction, the major refurbishment works of the 3rd floor at Frances House in Guernsey is on program to be completed later this year. Working closely with the external project managers and internal facilities staff, a new suite of cellular offices are being installed throughout, complete with new modern WC facilities and the latest LED lighting systems.
As parts of the hotels yearly upgrade works, C8 have been employed to design and install a new fully addressable fire alarm system across the hotel, with works due to complete later this year.
Work has started at the impressive Dementia care home facility, which is due for completion late 2016. JW Rihoy Ltd have awarded C8 the intricate and detailed HVAC services across the site, which consists of numerous ventilation units and systems as well as a full commercial kitchen system.

New maintenance activity has been secured at the prestigious site. Many of the C8 staff have been involved with the building for many years in various maintenance and refurbishment projects and we are very happy that the landlord and landlords agents have decided to utilize our full range of services on offer.
The existing hot water cylinders throughout the hotel are being replaced with new highly efficient and thermally insulated thermal stores to provide hot water to the site. The existing water tanks have been removed and a full pressurized system will be design to reduce the need for high volumes of stored water services.
C8 have been accredited with the REFCOM certification, following an external audit from REFCOM, the leading air conditioning and refrigeration industry specialists. HVAC and Renewables Manager Chris De Mouilpied said “This latest accreditation will provide our clients with the assurance that our team of air conditioning engineers and C8 are suitably qualified with the safe handling of all refrigerants used within air conditioning systems”.
With numerous care homes being constructed within the islands and future schemes predicted, C8 have been appointed as the Channel Islands nurse and warden call systems for all Guardian projects. Guardian are the leading UK supplier for numerous care home facilities and C8 will provide a complete package for all supply, installation and service requirements for the entire range of products. Following a series of training courses in the UK, C8 can now ensure that these critical systems are supported fully, within the islands.
After successfully completing the required entry requirements for ISO9001 accreditation, C8 are progressing with the required external audits from independent sources. Receiving the accredited ISO9001 award will increase our internal efficiencies and will eventually benefit our clients.
